In the name of God Amen the xij th daie of Aprill in the
yeare of our Lord 1610 I Richard Smith of Rushden in the county
of Northampton husbandman being syck in bodie but whole in mynde laude
and praise be unto god therefore doe ordayne and make my testament
conteyning herein my last will in forme and maner following. First
I bequeath my soule to Allmightie god my creator & Redeemer And
my bodye to be buried in the parishe churchyard of Rushden aforesaid.
Item I bequeath unto Blase Smith my brother v li x s which is in
the hands of Richard Bletsow of Archester. Item I give unto Elizabeth
my sister iiij li viij s which is in the hands of Thomas Darnelie
the younger. Item I give unto Agnes Drage daughter of Raphe
Drage xl s which is in the hands of Randell Mason. Item I give
unto Blase Smith my brother aforesaid xx s which is in the hands
of Nathanael Woodward. Item I give unto Elizabeth Smith my
sister xx s which ys in the handes of Thomas Boyfield my master.
Item I give unto Blase Smith my said brother three lambehoggs &
one acre of pease now sowen in the fields of Rushden. Item I give
unto the said Elizabeth my sister one acre of wheat and barley and
one great chest. Item I give unto Blase my brother one cofer. Item
I give unto Willm Boyfield and Robert Boyfield my masters sonnes
vij s which my dame oweth unto me. Item I give unto the sonne of John
Olde my godsonne & to Nathanaell Woodwards sonne my god sone also
tenne shillings which is in the hande of the said Nathanaell Woodward that
is to saye iij s to John Oldes sonne and vj s to Nathanaell Woodwards
sonne. Item I give unto Evan Barnard ij s vj d which he oweth
me and ij s vj d more. Item I give unto Margery Hargrave xx d
and to Mawde Curtys widowe xx d. Item all the rest of my goods
unbequeathed I give unto Blase Smith my brother whom I make
my sole executor of this my last will and testament. And I appoint
for overseers Robert Sannderson & Thomas Boyfield my master. And
to this I have putte my hande.
