Peter Saunders 1739

In the Name of God Amen I Peter Saunders of Rushden in ye County of Northamton Mason being weake in Body but of sound Disposing mind & Memory (Blessed be God) do make & Ordain this my last Will & Testament in Manner and form following. Imp I commend and resign up my Soul to ye Mercy of God thro ye Merrits of my Redeemer & my Body to ye Earth in hopes of a Blessed Resurrection as for that Estate wch God hath blest me with I do give and Devise to my only Son the Messuage or Tenament in which I now dwell with the yard and orchard & all its appurtanencies and all My land ley or medow ground with ye apputanencies lying and being in ye fields of Rushden to him and his Heirs for ever Subject notwithstanding and charged with the payments of three pounds per ann by four quarterly payments ye first payment to be due the first Quarter day after my decease which sd sum of three pounds I will that he my sd son do pay to my wife Elizabeth for ye sd hous and lands during the term of her Natural Life

Item I give to my sd wife all my houshold goods and fuel all the rest of goods and Chattels I do give to my son whom I make sole Executor of this my last will and testament in Wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of September in ye year of our Lord 1729
