In the name of god Amen the xxth day of December in the xlijth yeare of the raigne of our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth I George Sannderson of Rushden in the Countie of North’ton yeoman being sicke in body by the visitacon of god but in good and perfect memory god be praysed therefore doe make and ordaine this my Testament wherein is contained this my Laste will in manner and forme followinge First I give and bequeath my Soule into the handes of almightie god &c Item I give and bequeath unto the Church iijs iiijd to bee payde within one yeare after my decease by myne Executrix Item I give to the poore mans box iijs iiijd to be payde in like manner Item I give towards the repayre of the Calsey at the northend of the towne iijs iiijd to bee payd as before at the disposinge of my sonne Robt Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Robt Sannderson two bondes of Thomas Sannderson th’one contayninge xx£ the other xix£ vjs viijd Item I give the bonde of Robt Hackneys which cometh to xl£ to my sayde Sonne Robert Item I give the bonde of Robt Stephans with others contained in the same bonde which cometh to xxij£ to my sonne Robt aforesaid Item I give the bond of Thomas Bill and Tho Harrisonne contayninge viij£ and vjs to my sonne Robert Also I give to the same Robt Sannderson the bonde of Thomas Harrysonne and Thomas Bill contayninge iij£ viijs in like manner I give unto my sonne Robt Sanndersonne the bonde of Thomas Harrysonne and Thomas Bill contayninge x£ and xs Item I give to my sonne Robt the bondes of Mr Henry Weekley contayninge Eleven pownds a peece The bond of Thomas Hills contayninge vj£ and xxs and the bond of Thomas Harrysonne and Thomas Bill containing v£ and the bond of Thomas Maxey and Edward James contayninge xj£ and the bond of Edward Gray contayninge xs and the bond of Robt Selbie and Henry Clerke contayninge iiij£ and viiijs and the bond of Robt Portor contayninge v£ and xs the bond of Richard Elande contayninge xls the bond of Robt Reade and Robt Selbie contayninge xj£ The bond of Thomas Goodwin and Richard Gurrey contayninge v£ and xvs the bond of Willm Selbie contayninge iij£ vjs and the bond of Thomas Harryson and Thomas Bill contayninge xxij£ the bonde of William Crowe contayninge iiij£ viiijs and the bond of Henry Clarke & Robt Selby contayninge xliiijs and the bond of Richard Lambe and Thomas Gurrey contayninge v£ xs And also I give to my sayd sonne Robt the two bondes which he stand bounde unto me for the payment of xxvij£ Provided allwaies that if I the sayd George Sanndersonne doe not depart this world before these two bonds bee due to bee payd then the gifte of the sayd two bonds shalbe voyde and of none effect withall the rest Item I give and bequeath to the same Robt Sanndersonne my sonne my lease of Dichford mill holmes which cometh to l£ Also I give to the same Robt all my plough Chaynes and Irons belonginge both to plough and cart with my best crowe of Iron and all my plough timber and cart timber with all my harrowes And one saltinge trough standinge in Thomas Baws his house to enter of the same ymediately after my decease Item I give unto my sonne Robt my cesterne which I have framed with wood to be cover’d with leade towards the Coveringe of itt I doe give him my house trough cover’d with leade all my eade and leade waightes and all my seales beames both yron and wood Also I give to the same Robt my two gold rings to weare for my sake And also all my evidences which belongeth to all these his groundes at Higham Ferrers Also my sheepe my Carte hovellto enter of these ymediately after my decease Allso I give to my sonne Robt and to his heires for ever my house at Higham Ferrers called Tootehill to enter of the same after the decease of Alice my wife I give and bequeath to the same Robt my two leys that I bought of Weedon to enter of the same after the decease of Alice my wife I also give unto my sayd sonne Robt my farme which I how dwell in exceptinge those giftes which I have given out of the same Farme before to him and to his heires for ever after the custome of the manner And thereupon I have given the surrender into two of the handes of the customary tenants that is to saye Richard Boyfeild and Oliver Latimer Item I give and bequeath unto Robt my sonne my two best bedds and all the beste furntiur belonginge to both of them my longe table into the hall and forme belonginge to the same All my buffet stooles my two beste chests one cubborde standinge in the hall my two best spyttes and cobyrons and the seelinge and the two portals and furniture to them belonginge standinge in the Chamber but my meaninge is that he shall enter of none of these parcels before the decease of Alice my wife Item I give and bequeath unto Alice my wife the lease of Higham Ferrers mill leyes and the lease of goore peece now in the occupation of widow wingrave and all the willows growing on ye same Leases for terme of her lyfe and after her decease to Robt Sanndersonn my [sonne] and his heire and assignes Item I give to Johane Barwicke the wife of Thomas Barwicke iiij£ xls to be payd ymediately after my decease and the other halfe a yeare after to bee payd by my sonne Robt Item I give and bequeath unto Nicholas Sannderson my sonne halfe a quarter of barley and halfe a quarter of beanes pease and fiches to be payd within twelve monethes after my decease to be payd by my Executrix Item all the reste of my goodes & chattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto Alice my wife whom I make my sole Executrix to see my debtes payd and all other expences discharged And for my supervisors I doe apointe Richard Boyfeild and Oliver Latimer and I doe give eyther of them xs Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Barnes the wife of Thomas Barnes halfe quarter of barley beanes pease and fiches to bee payd by myne Executrix within on yeare after my departure Also I give to Robt my sonne a mault querne and all the stable Chaynes to enter of them ymediately after my decease Item my will is that Alice my wife shall give full power and authoritie to my sonne Robert as he shalbe devised and advised by his learned Councell for the obtaining of all these bonds and debts above menconed by letter of aturney any other waies or meanes whatsoever at the Cost and Charges of my sayd sonne Robt witnesses Rich Boyfeld Oliver Latimer Jacob Latimer by me George Sanndersonne
