Peter Sanders 1764 - Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Peter Saunders of Rushden in the County of Northampton mason First I give Devise and bequeath unto my Dearly beloved Wife Elizabeth All my messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever in the Kingdom of Great Britain for and during the Term of her natural Life and after her decease I give and Devise the messuage Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances which was late my Fathers and now in the possession of my nephew Peter Cooper unto my nephew Thomas Cooper and his heirs Also I give and Devise after the Decease of my said wife the messuage Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances late my uncle Thomas Saunders’s now in the occupation of William Brugis shoemaker unto Thomas Saunders who is now apprentice to me and to his Heirs Also after the Decease of my said wife I give and Devise all the Rest and Residue of my messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate (not herein before by me given and Devised) unto my said nephew Peter Cooper his Heirs and assigns charged and chargeable to and with the Payment of Five pounds apiece unto my six nieces Elizabeth Bodington, Mary Bayes, Hannah Cooper, Martha Frisby, Susanna Cooper and Catherine Cooper, to be paid to each of them within Twelve months next after the Decease of my said Wife and which I hereby give to them accordingly Also I give to my said nephew Peter Cooper all the stock of Stones I shall dye possessed of and all my working Tools And also I give him Liberty to dig Stones in my Stone Pitts and Liberty to work them at his free Will and Pleasure during the Term of the Natural Life of my said Wife I give to my said Nephew Thomas Cooper my Watch and my Brown Coat that has the Silver Buttons which were his Uncles Thomas Coopers I give unto the said Peter Cooper my Grey Coat with the Silver Buttons on it. I desire my Wife will provide a Grave Stone ffive ffeet and six inches high from the ground and Two ffeet nine inches Wide and Desire my Grave may be dugg Six ffeet Deep and that my Wife when she is dead be buried in the same Grave with me All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my personal Estate I give Devise and bequeath unto my said Wife the Executors and administrators and I make her sole Executrix of this my Will Revoking and making and all former and other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made declaring this to be my Last In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament (contained in one sheet of paper) set my hand and seal this ffirst day of February in the Third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Third And in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred and sixty three.
