Elizabeth Sanders 1779

In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Sanders of the Parish of Rushden in the County of Northampton Widdow being of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be unto God but calling to mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the following manner and form that is to say first of all I Commit my soul into the merciful hands of God that gave it humbly intreating his most gracious acceptance of it through the alone merits and mediation of Jesus Christ and as for my body I recommend it to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in Christian like decent manner at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God And as for such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner. Viz. I give and bequeath to my Welbeloved Nephew Peter Cooper all and singular my houshold goods and furniture and also all my goods and chattels together with all my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever And I do also make Constitute and appoint my said Nephew Peter Cooper only and Sole Executor of [of] this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly revoke and disannul all and every other former Wills bequests or legacies by me in any wise named willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy one

On the 29th July 1779 Peter Cooper the sole Ex’tor named in the within Will was then at the petition of Gates his Proctor Sworn well & faithfully to perform the same & so forth and that the Decd at the time of her Death was not possessed of a personal Estate to the amount of forty pounds.
