Will of William SANDERS, dated 13th Jun 1782

In the Name of God Amen

I William SANDERS of the Parish of Rushden in the County of Northampton Glover Being of Sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be given unto God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body knowing it is appointed for all men once to die Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First of all I give and resign my Soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth from whence it as taken to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God – And as to Such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give bequeath and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form Imprimis I Give devise and bequeath to Jane my Dearly beloved wife All that my Messuage or Tenement wherein I now Dwell together with all and Singular its rights members and its Appurtenances to be by her freely possessed and enjoyed during the term of her natural life, with full liberty to make use of the Same either to mortgage or Sell the Same, providing necessity may So require – And I do also give and bequeath to me beloved wife abovesaid all and Singular my houshold goods and furniture together with all my real and personal estate to be wholly and Solely at her disposal during the term of her natural life and So long as She remains a widdow, but in case my Said wife Should marry again, that then and on this Condition, all my foresaid Estate both real and personal Shall be left to the use of my Children in Such manner and agreable to my intent and design herein after mentioned I do therefore give and bequeath the remainder of my Said Messuages or tenements after my wives decease (or after her marriage if it Should So happen) to my beloved sons John SANDERS and William SANDERS to be equally Shared between them as Co-heirs of the Same, together with all the premises thereto belonging or appertaining to the Same, to them their heirs and Assigns forever – I do also give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Elizabeth SANDERS Such a Share of my houshold goods and furniture as might amount to, or be in proportion to the valuation of my estate disposed of to my two sons before named, my intent purpose and will being to have all my Children have as near as may be equall and proportionate Share in the remainder of my Substance after My Just Debts and funeral expenses are discharged I do also further nominate Constitute and appoint my Dearly beloved wife above named to be the only and Sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament whom I also Charge with the payment of my just debts and funeral expences And I do hereby ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last Will and Testament  In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this thirteenth Day of June One thousand Seven hundred and eighty two.
