In the name of god amen the last daye of November in ye yere of owre lorde god MCCCCCXLII (1542) I Thomas Pemberton of Rusden in cownty of north’ton Esquyre syke in body & of perfyt mynde & good remembrance thankyd be god & ferynge the uncertyn howre of dethe ordeyn & make my last wyll & testament in forme folowyng that ys to say first I bequeth my sole to almighty god & my body to be burred in holly sanctuary Item I Wyll & bequeth to my cosyn Robert Pemberton all my plate except one sylver salt wych I bequeth to my cosyn Zybell Pemberton Item I bequeth to my cosyn Richard Pemberton xls. Item to my cosyn Thomas Pemberton xls. Item to Joylon Watson x£ Item to my cosyn Henry Freeman xs. & a cote of [fever] of the best making Item to Sir Wylliam Smyth priest 5s Item to all my servants theyre wages & lyvery & to every of them one quarter wages more after my decease Item I wyll that a prest shall syng & pray for my soule & my frynds souls by the space of ij yeres next after my decease & he to have for his labor x£ Item I gyve & bequeth to Ruseden church my mase boke & a kusshen of cloth of tysshewe Item I bequethto my god daughter Jane Pemberton my beds of corall & sylver The resydu of my goods & cattells in this my wyll nott bequethide I gyve & bequeth them to my cosyn Robert Pemberton Whom I make & orden my sole executor of this my present wyll also I renownce and forsake all other wyll or wylls by me afore this tyme made & affyrme thys to bemy last wyll & testament in wytnys whereof I the sayde Thomas Pemberton have here subscrybyde my name gyven the day & yere above written & also putt to my seale tunc ibedem & them present be Lord Willm Smyth curat Lord John chaplin Willm Slatear Richard Marshall George Dalten & Mr Henry Freman and also as witnesses.

In the name of god amen the last day of November in the year of our lord god MCCCCCXLII (1542) I Thomas Pemberton of Rushden in County of Northampton Esquire sick in body & of perfect mind & good remembrance thanked be god & fearing the uncertain hour of death ordain & make my last will & testament in form following that is to say first I bequeath my sole to almighty god & my body to be buried in Holy sanctuary Item I Will & bequeath to my cousin Robert Pemberton all my plate except one silver salt which I bequeath to my cousin Sybell Pemberton Item I bequeath to my cousin Richard Pemberton 40s. Item to my cousin Thomas Pemberton 40s. Item to Joylon Watson 10£ Item to my cousin Henry Freeman 10s. & a coat of [fur?] of the best making Item to Sir William Smyth priest 5s Item to all my servants their wages & livery [*clothes] & to every of them one quarter wages more after my decease Item I will that a priest shall sing & pray for my soul & my friends souls by the space of 2 years next after my decease & he to have for his labour 10£ Item I give & bequeath to Rushden church my mace book & a cushion of cloth of tissue Item I bequeath to my god daughter Jane Pemberton my beds of coral & silver The residue of my goods & cattle in this my will not bequeathed I give & bequeath them to my cousin Robert Pemberton Whom I make & ordain my sole executor of this my present will Also I renounce and forsake all other will or wills by me afore this time made & affirm this to be my last will & testament in witness whereof I the said Thomas Pemberton have here subscribed my name given the day & year above written & also putt to my seal tunc ibedem & them present be Lord William Smyth curate Lord John chaplin William Slatear Richard Marshall George Dalten & Mr Henry Freman and also as witnesses.
