Thomas Peake - will 1683

In the name of God Amen August the one & Thirtieth one Thousand six hundred eighty & three I Thomas Peake of Rushden in the County of North’ton yeoman being weake & infirm of body but of sound & perfect mind & memory praise be therefore given to Allmighty God doe make & ordain this my Last will & Testament in manner & form following (That is to say) First & principally I commend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God hopeing through the merritts death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full & free pardon & forgivenesse of all my sins & to inherit everlasting life And my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as touching the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon me I give & dispose thereof ad followeth Imprimis I doe hereby give & bequeath unto John Perrot sonne of Job Perrot of St Edeeds (sic) in the County of Huntingdon my nephew the summe of Tenn pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to him the said John by my Executor hereafter named within Two years after my decease Allso I doe hereby give & bequeath unto Mary daughter of the aforesaid Job Perrot my neece the like summe of Tenn pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executor hereafter named within Two years after my decease Allso I doe hereby give & bequeath unto Alice daughter of the said Job parrot the sum of Tenn Pounds of like lawfull money of Engaldn to be paid within Two years after my decease by my Executor hereafter named Allso I doe hereby give & bequeath unto my Aunt Frances Burge widdow the summe of fourty shillings to be paid unto her by my Executor hereafter named immediately after my decease if she be then alive otherwise the same summe to remaine & be to the use of my Executor Allso I doe hereby give & bequeath unto Anna Colston my servant the summe of fourty shillings to be paid unto her by my Executor within one yeare after my decease provided the said Anna doe live with me when I die otherwise shee shall have but twenty shillings Allso I doe give unto the poore of the parish of Rushden the summe of fower pounds to be divided amongst them according to the Directions I shall leave with my Executor Allso I doe hereby give unto the children of John Wright of Blunham in the County of Bedford which he had by Elizabeth Perrot my neece the summe of fourty shillings a peece to be paid to them when they shall attaine their severall ages of one & Twenty years Allso all the rest of my moveable goods & Chattles whatsoever I doe hereby give & bequeath unto my Brother Samuel Peake clerk whom I make full & sole Executor of this my Last will & Testament he paying & discharging my debts Legacies & funeral expences And I do hereby revoke anull & make void all other wills & Testaments by me at any time heretofore made In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the day & yeare first above written
