Richard Peake - will 1630

In the name of God amen the 30th day of July 1629 I Richard Peake of Rushden in the countie of North’ton Clarke being sick in body but of a good and perfect memory praysed be God therefore do ordayne and make my will containing therin my last testament in manner and forme fowling. First I bequeath my soule to almighty god my creator and Jesus Christ my redeemer and my body to be buryed in the ch(auncel) of the p[ar]ish church of Rushden . I bequesth and (give) unto th epoore of the p[ar]ish of Rushden xl s to be distributed by my executors at the day of my death. Item I give unto Willm Peake my brother one whole suite of apparell. Item I give unto James Peake my eldest son and unto Katharine Cooke the wife of Willm Cooke and Elizabeth Knight the wife of Willm Knight my two daughters all my other apparall equally devided to them Item I give unto James Peake one tr___ all my (books) with one musket with all the furnyture one fetherbed one boulster one payre of sheetes with (said) fetherbed boulster and sheetes was borrowed of the said James Peake Item I give unto Elizabeth Knight the wife of Willm Knight one great chest being in the parlour & and one chayre being the highest and one cubpord being the midlemost in the haull three payre of sheetes one truss bed in the parlour one rugged coverlet one table in the parlour with the frame belonging to the same one brass pot the biggest of them and halfe the pewter one bussett stoole one forme and that profitts and comodytyes arising of that copyhold land which is surrounded to the est of Elizabeth Knight & one glasse (cast) Item I give unto Katherine Cooke the wife of Willm Cooke one trusse bed in the upper chamber with the best coffer in the same one hill(inge) 2 payre of sheetes one chayre one cupboard one table in the haull with the frame belonging to the same with the lesser brasst pot and halfe the pewter one buffet (sto)ole one forme and the lynnen unbequeathed and ungiven to be equally devided to my daughter Catharine Cooke nowe the wife of Willm Cooke and to Elizabeth Knight nowe the wife of Willm Knight Item I give unto James Peake v li in money nowe (remayneth) in the handes of Sir Lewes Pemberton ___ and ___ to me the s[ai]d Richard Peake at the lady day last past. Item all my other goodes unbequeathed and ungiven I do give and bequeath unto James Peake myne eldest son whom I do make sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills and grantes formerly made in wittnes to the same I have ___ subscribed my hande and lastly I do nominate and appoint to be overseers of this my will & testament Lewes Tapp and John Maye.
