William Palmer - will 1670

May ye 26th Anno 1670

In the name of God Amen I William Pallmer of Rushden in ye county of Northampton yeo[man] being weake & infirm of body but of perfect sence & remembrance God be praised do make & ordayne this my Last Will & Testament in manner & forme following

First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty God hopeing through the meritorious death and passion of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ to receive free pardon for all my sins & my body to be buried in Christian burial according to the discresion of my Executor And as to that Worldly estate wherewith the lord hath been pleased to intrust me I dispose therof as followeth First I give to my sonne Samuel whom I make Executor of this my will all my moveable goods both within and without doors excepting what is hereafter particularly exprest Item I give to my daughter Mary the sume of one hundred pounds of lawfull English money to be payed to the said Mary by my said Executor at two severall dayes & times of payment viz the sume of fifty pounds when shee the said Mary attains the age of one & twenty yeares provided shee live to that age and fifty pounds more residue therof when she comes to the age of two & twenty yeares if shee lives to that age Item I give also to the said Mary as much of my household goods as shall extend to the value of ten pounds shee the said Mary to have the choice of what goods shee please and the said goods to be valued by two sufficient men accordingly but if shee the said Mary shall not like the valuation of ye said goods as they shall be prised by the said two men then my will is that my sonne Samuel shall give to hir the said Mary the sume of ten pounds of lawfull English money in lieu of ye said goods Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Asplin the sume of twelve pounds being lawfully demanded Item I give to the children of William Cables? which he has by my daughter Martha each of them an ewe lamb to be given to them ye said children at martinmas next after my decease at ye disposal of my Executor Item I give to my foresaid daughter Mary all the bees that are in the garden & ye said bees to stand in ye garden until such time as shee shall have occasion other way to dispose of them Item ye said Mary shall have a weaned calfe kept at the charge of my Executor for ye space of a yeare & also ye keeping of two sheep for a yeare Item I give to my sonne John the sume of five shillings Item I give to my sonne Samuel all my freehold land pasture ground & meadow ground lying & being in the fields & meadows of Rushden with the appurtenances To him his heirs & Assigns for ever In Witnesse hereof I the said William Pallmer have unto this my last Will & Testament sett my hand & seale the day and yeare above written
