Thomas Narbery 1735

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Narbery of Rushden in the County of Northampton Glover being of sound mind and memory thanks be to God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following Imprimis whereas I have made a surrender whereby I have surrendered by the Rod into the hands of the Lord of the manor of Rushden by the hands of John Wollaston and Samuel Woolston two other customary tenants of the said manor. All that my messuage or tenement lying and being in the south end of Rushden formerly Dickinces and now in the tenure and occupation of Robert King with the appurtenances and all that my one acre of arable land and one swathe of meadow ground lying and being in the field and meadow of Rushden with their appurtenances and all that my messuage or tenement lying and being next on the south side of the aforesaid messuage late Stevenses and now in the tenure of William Litchfield with part of an orchard adjoining with all and each of their appurtenenances and all those my six acres of arable land and lay ground with the appurtenances lying and being in the fields of Rushden and all that my messuage or tenement I now dwell in with a little plot of ground as it is now paled out with the liberty of ingress, egress and regress through the gateway next on the north side with all and each of their appurtenances. Item my will is that my messuage or tenement late Dickinces now in the tenure of Robert King shall be to the use and behoof of my son William Narbery and of his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said manor. Item my will is that all the rest of the premises so surrendered with all and each of their appurtenances shall be to the use and behoof of my beloved wife Elizabeth Narbery for and during her natural life and from and after her decease my will is that my one acre of arable land and one swathe of meadow ground shall be to the use and behoof of my son William Narbery and of his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said manor. Item my will is that my messuage or tenement late Stevens now in the tenure of William Litchfield and part of an orchard and six acres of arable land and lay ground with all and each of their appurtenances shall be to the use and behoof of my son in law George Ives of Odell in the County of Bedford and of his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said manor. He paying out of the same all my just debts and the legacies hereafter named that is to say four pounds which I give to my grandson John Narbery and forty shillings to my grandson William Tipson and to my daughter Martha Marrat forty shillings and to my granddaughter Elizabeth Tipson forty shillings. Item my will is that the messuage I now dwell in with the little plot of ground as it is now paled out with liberty of ingress, egress and regress through the gateway next on the north side shall be to the use and behoof of my granddaughter Elizabeth Tipson and of her heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said manor. Item I give to my said granddaughter my biggest kettle but one and all the household goods that her grandmother hath right to dispose of by marriage covenant. Item I give and bequeath to my son William Narbery all my stock of leather and gloves and all the implements that belong to the glovers trade and one bedstead and the bedding he commonly lyeth in. Item I give to my beloved wife all the rest of my movable goods and chattels to be at her disposal and I do appoint my beloved wife and my son in law George Ives joint executor and executrix of this my last Will and Testament confirming this to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of November in the sixth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland etc and in the year of our Lord 1732.
