Elizabeth Mills - Will 1714

In the Name of God Amen the Nineteenth day of Aprill 1714 I Elizabeth MILLS of the Parish of Rushden in ye County of Northton Wid. being very ^ [‘sick’ inserted above] and weak in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God: Therefore calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is apointed for all Men once to Dye doe make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say. Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the Hands of God that gave it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but att the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by ye Mighty Power of God. And as touching my Worldly ^ [‘Estate’ inserted above] I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form~~~

Imprimis I give to my beloved Son Tho: MILLS one shilling Item I give to my beloved son Hen: MILLS whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament all and singular my goods and Chattels by him freely to be possessed and enjoyed and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments by me in any ways before named Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In Wittness Whereof I have here unto set my hand & seal the Day & year above written.
