Solomon May - Will 1680

In the name of God Amen September the fifteenth one thousand six hundred & eighty I Solomon May of Rushden in the County of  Northton yeoman, being sick & weake of body butt of perfect sense & remembrance God be praised doe make & ordaine this my last will & testament in manner & forme following first I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing assuredly through the meritorious death & suffering of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full pardon & forgivenesse of all my  sinns & life everlasting and as for my body I commit the same unto the earth to be buried in Christian burial according unto the discression of my Executor hereafter named and as for that portion of worldly goods wherewith itt hath pleased God to make me an unworthy Steward of I give thereof as followeth.

Imprimis I doe hereby give & bequeath unto my dear & well beloved wife Anne May the tilth of all my land & the profits of all my pease lands for the cropp in the yeare next ensuing. Allsoe I doe hereby give  and bequeath unto my said wife all the rest of my moveable goods chattels & cattell whatsoever (my debts & funeral charges being first discharged) whom I make sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament and I doe hereby revoke all other & former wills and testaments by me att any time heretofore made. In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and year first above written.
