Margaret May 1600

In the name of God Amen the thirde daye of January in the yeare of our lord 1599 I Margaret MAY of Rushden in the Countie of North’ton and diocch. of Peterbrough widowe late the wyfe of John MEY beinge sicke in body but whole and perfect in minde doe make and ordayne this my laste Will and Testament in manner and forme as followeth First I bequeath my soule into the hands of allmightie god my maker and redeemer and my body to be buryed within the Churchyd of Rushden aforesayd Item I give unto William MEY my eldest sonne xxvjs.viijd. to be payd unto him within one halfe yeare after my decease Item I give unto Robert MEY one brasse pott the least of the two and xijd. in money for Jeremy Robt his sonne Item I give unto John MEY my third sonne xls. a kettle and two potts of pewter and one payre of hardon sheets one board cloth to be delivered ymediately after my departure Item I give unto Daniell my fourth sonne iiij£ and two payre of sheets thone flaxen and thother payre hardon and one boardcloth of teare of hempe and one brasse pan and one basonne one latine candle sticke and two platters my best Coffer and my best bed steede Item my will is that if Danyell my sayd sonne doe not returne alive againe then all these legacies which Danyell should have had be equally devided to the uses of my two sonnes Robert MEY and John MEY and they to have them Item all the Rest of my goods unbequeathed I doe give unto George GOOBY whom I doe make my sole Executor In witness to this my Will I Margaret MEY have set to my hand and sele Witnes to this will Richard PEAKE the wrighter and Henry CLARKE

John MEY was buried 16th Dec 1599
Margaret MEY wife of John was buried 10th Jan 1599/1600
