In the name of God Amen the xxvijth day of Julie in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and fourteen I Richard May of Rushden in the Countie of North’ton husbandman beinge sicke in body but whole in minde and in good and perfect memory Laude and praise be unto God therefore doe ordayne and make my Testament containing herein my last will in form and manner following. First I bequeath my soule unto almightie God my creatour and redeemer and my body to be buried in the parish Church or Churchyard of Rushden aforesaide Item I give unto the repairinge of the parish Church of Rushsden iij s iiij d Item I give unto Robert May my sonne and heir all my freeholde land and meadow with Thapurtenances lying devided within the feildes and meadows of Rushden afforesaide according as it is truelie terred forth according to my ancient free deedes in a terrey bearing date the day of the Date of this present Testament To have and to hold the said Lands and meadows to the saide Robert May and his heirs for ever Item I give unto Agnes my wife those beds & bedsteads Coffers lynin and whatsoever stuffe is in the Chamber in which I now lye Item I give unto the children of Richard May my sonne late deceased as followeth that is to say To Joseph iij L vj s viij d And to James iij L vj s viij d And to Mary iij L vj s viij d to be payde to everye on[e] of them at xxjth yeare of their age and if any of the saide children dye before the saide tyme and their stock be unpaid my will is that the survivers shall have the legacy that did belong to him or her Item I give unto Elizabeth Hensam my daughter the wife of Richard Hensam vj s viij d Item I give unto Agnes the wife of Thomas Sa.. my daughter vj s viij d Item I give unto Susan the wife of Thomas Barey my daughter vj s viij d Item I give unto Ellin the wife of William Perberry my daughter vj s viij d Item I give unto Pleasant the wife of Henrey Harford my daughter vj s viij d Item I give unto the children of Richard Holmes which were born of the body of Johan my daughter and are now alive as followeth to John Holmes iij s iiij d To Judith Holmes iij s iiij d and to Agnes Holmes iij s iiij d Item I give unto the sonnes of Robert May my sonne as followeth that is to John xij d To Nathaniel xij d To Hamech xij d and to Eliab xij d Item I give unto the children of Thomas Barey which were born of the body of Susan my daughter and are now alive as followeth that is To John xij d To Thomas xij d To Agnes xij d To Mary xij d Item I give unto the children of Henrey Harford which were born of the body of Pleasant my daughter as followeth that is To Heretage xij d To Patience xij d To Charitie xij d To Prudence xij d and to the rest the like Item I give unto Remembrance Burge servant to my sonne Robert on[e] Ewe sheepe to be delivered unto her at the next springe Item I give unto Francis Bates and William Weeden eyther of them xij d whom I make my supervisours Item All the rest of my goods unbequeathed my Funerall & Legases discharged I give unto Robert May my sonne whom I make sole Executor of this my last will and Testament.
