Ann Margets 1726 Will

In the name of God Amen the seventh day of December 1724 I Ann Margets of Rushden in the County of Northampton widow being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God. Therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in manner and form following.
Impris I give to my cousin Ann Borton of London the sum of twenty shillings. Item I give to my cousin John Coleson four children five shillings apiece viz to John Coleson five shillings, to Thomas Coleson five shillings to Mary Coleson five shillings and to Ann Coleson five shillings. Item I give to Thomas Pratt of Rushden daughter Elizabeth five shillings. Item I give to Elizabeth Denton twenty shillings my bedstead one feather pillow and bolster the coloured blanket my red parragon petticoat and my coloured petticoat and the marked pewter dish. Item I give to my cousin Matthew Kellaston the sum of twenty shillings to be paid to him when he shall come to and attain the age of one and twenty years.
The residue and remainder of my goods and chattels I give to my cousin William Margets whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole executor of this my last Will and Testament he paying the several sums of money and parcels of goods before mentioned. My mind and meaning is that all the said legacies except the last be paid within one year after my decease.
