Samuel Manning - will 1723

In the Name of God Amen I Samuell Manning of Rushden in ye County of Northampton yeoman being weak in body but of sound mind & memory thanks be to God do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner & form following

Imprimis Whereas I have made a surrender bearing date with this my Will whereby I have surrendered by ye Rod into ye hands of ye Lord of ye Manor of Rushden by ye hands of Mr Thomas Smith senr and John Wollaston two other Customary Tenents of ye said Manor All that my Cottage or Tenement with ye Appurtenances lyeing & being in Rushden in a street called Duckstreet Will Mallory north Mr Richards South and also All those my four Acers & three Roods of Copyhold lands lyeing in ye fields of Rushden with there appurtenances and Also All those my two Acers & one Rood & halfe of copyhold Lands with there appurtenances lyeing in ye fields of Rushden aforesaid And also All that my Cottage or Tenement and Orchard adjoining with their appurtenances my Will is that the Cottage or Tenement first named and the four Acers & three Roods of bondhold lands and the two Acers & one Rood & half of Coppyhold lands shall be to the use & behoof of my sonne Samuell Manning and of his heirs & Assigns for ever according to ye Custom of ye Mannor of Rushden Item I also give & bequeath to my said sonn Samuell Manning All those my four Acers of freehold landes lyeing & being in ye fields of Rushden with their appurtenances to him & his heirs and Assigns for ever but nevertheless my Will is that the said Cottage or Tenement and ye four Acers and three Roods of bondhold land & the two Acers & one Rood & half of Coppyhold lands and the four Acers of freehold lands so surrendered & given shall be subject to the payment of my just debts and my yonger Childrens portions hearafter named Item my Will is that the other Cottage with ye Orchard adjoining & their appurtenances shall be to ye use & behoof of my beloved wife Elizabeth Manning for & during her naturall life and from & after her decease to the use & behoofe of my sonn Samuell Manning and of his heirs for ever Item I give to my three sonns Thomas John & William Manning the sum of fifteein pounds apiece to be paid out of my Estate as they come to one and Twenty years of age Item I give to my two daughters Elizabeth & Mary Manning the sum of fifteein pounds apiece to be paid when they come to one & Twenty years of age if it so happen that any of them shall die before they attain to one & Twenty years my will is that their part shall be equally divided among ye survivors of them Item I give to my beloved Wife all my Houshol goods to be at her disposing Item I give & bequeath to my beloved Wife and my sonn Samuell Manning whom I make joint Executors all and singuler the rest of my personall Estate my Bills Bonds Reddy money together with the rest of moveable goods and Chattels by them to be enjoyed & I do hereby make voide all other wills Ratyfying & confirming this to be my last will & Testament in Witness whereof I have set my hand & seall this seventeeinth day of September in ye seventh year of ye Reigne of our Sovereign Lord George by ye grace of God King of Great Brittain France & Ierland &c and in ye year of our Lord 1720
