John Johnson - will 1615

In the name of God Amen the xxvj th day of December in the year of our Lord on[e] thousand six hundred and fourteene I John Johnson of Rushden in the Countye of North’ Taylour being sicke in body but whole of minde laude and prayse be unto God therefore do ordayne and make my Testament contayninge here my laste will in forme and manner followinge First I bequeath my soule to Almightie God my creatour and redeemer & my body to be buried in the parish Churchyard of Rushden aforesaid Item I geve unto the reparation of the Church of Rushden ij s. Item I geve unto Mr Whiston the preacher v s. Item I geve unto my Brother Robert his daughter x s. Item I geve unto Thomas the sonne of John Smith iij s. iij d. to be paid unto him on Twelith day come Twelvemonth Item I geve unto my father x poundes 5 s. for him to pay unto Mr Thomas Margete for the rest of the Sum of xx£ x s. for an house bought of the [said] Thomas Item my will is that the Surrender of the said house which is in the handes of Robert May and William Weeden shall be brought into ye court of our Soveraigne Lord the kinge majestie to the use of Richard Johnson my father Duringe his naturall life and after his decease unto Margret my sister & to her heirs and assignes accordinge to the custome of the manor Item my will is my sister Margret shall have rome for succour if need be duringe the life time of my father Item All the rest of my goodes unbequeathed I geve unto Margret my sister whom I make my sole executrix of this my last will and Testament And I apoynt for overseers Richard Johnson my father & Robert May In witnesse hereof I have put my hand
