James Grymesdych - 1578 Will

Testamentum Jacobi Grymesdich de Rushden …..1578

In the name of god Amen the ix th of July and Twentie yeare of the raigne of o[ur] most
Soveraigne Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of god of England Frannce & Ireland Quene defender
of the faith, I James Grymesdich of Rushden beinge sick in bodye & whole in mynde doo make my
last will and testament in forme and maner followinge first I bequethe my soule into the hands
of almightie god and my body to be buried within the churche yarde of Rushden. Item I geve and bequethe
unto Edward Fisher my sonne in lawe halfe the occapinge (occupying) of my lande with lieth within the
fields of Rushden to have & to enioye the same with all commodities thereto belonginge so longe as my
wyffe his mother in lawe shall lyve, and after the decease of my wyffe my will is that the foresaide
Edward my sonne in lawe shall have the whole occupyinge to him selfe & to his heires forever of
the hafe  yarde lande, commonlye called Bond hould land which is vj __ acrs in every field and the mansione
howse with all commodities theareto belonginge yealdinge & payinge for the said half yard land to my
three daughters xv li of lawfull Englyshe money which I will have paid at three several payments
to ether of my said daughters v li and that within three yeares at the ferthst after the decease of my wife
f(er)ther my will is that yf agnys my wyffe doo not geve up surrender of this halfe yard land to the
use & commoditie of Edward Fysher ether presentlye before her decease or at any tyme before that then
it shall not be lawfull for the said Edward to paye this xv li  to my foresaid daughters, but my wyffe
shall take suche order as she shall ether paye or cause to be paid in such sort as is abovesaid, Item
I geve and bequeath unto the saide Edward Fisher one stard heifer and one blacke cowe and also half
the movables with out the howse, Item I geve & bequeath unto ether of my said daughters one bullocke to
be delivered at mychelmas next, Item I geve unto Richard Eales children ether of them one strike of barley
to be delivered at ester nexte, Item I geve unto the parish church of Rushden viij d to be paid shorteye
after my decease. Item I geve unto the poore women in the bonde howse iiij d, Item I will that yf god do call
any of my three daughters out of this world before theire marriage that then their stockes be devided by even portions
and geven to those my children which shall remain alive. The reste of my goods unbequeathed I geve
to agnes my wyfe whom I doe make my full executrixe, and Richard Mey and Willm Boyfeld
my supervisers to se my legacies be paid according to the true meaninge of this my last will
witnesses heartoo John Page, Robert Willings Richard Hichcoke Oliver Lattimer with others
