Thomas Gobby 1564

In the name of God Amen the xth day of the moneth of Aprill in the yere of our Lord God 1564 I Thomas Gobby of Rushden in the county of Northton husbandman being sicke in body by the visitation of God but wholl in memory god be praysed therefore do make & ordaine this my Testament wherin is contayned my last will in manner & forme followinge First I give & bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty god my heavenly father by whom & in whom I trust to be saved & to have forgivenes of all my sinnes Item I give & bequeath unto the parish church of Rushden xxd Item I give unto the poore xxd to be payd immediately after my decease Item my will is that Agnes Gobby my wife & Thomas Gobby my eldest sonne shall have & occupy my howse togither with all the land thereunto belonging & all the coppy hold lands that camme to me by heritage so longe as it shall please god that my wyfe shall lyve and after her decease yt shall acrueue unto Thomas my soonne wholly excepting that land which] was called Burtons land Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas my soonne on bedsteade one paire of sheete the one of harden the other of flexen one covering one bolster & one pillowe Item my will is that Robert Gobby my soonne shall have my howse & land of Bound after the decesse of Agnes my wyfe yf my wife be willing thereto & also my will is yf the sayd Robert shall pay unto my soonne Richard x pounds of good & lawfull money of England Immediately when the sayd Richard goethforth of the same howse wherein he nowe dwelleth & then the sayd Richard shall enter of his Three acrees of land Item I give & bequeth to George Gobby my youngest soonne x pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be payed unto him when the years of his prentishipp shalbe expired by Thomas my soonne Also I give unto the same George one shipp Item I give & bequeath unto Margery Gobby my daughter one browne bullocke Three ewes and three lambes one pare of harden sheetes on pare of flexen sheets one boulster one pillow one mattres a coverlit a kettle Three pewter platters on Saltceller one candelsticke one board cloath Item I give & bequeath unto Richard Scrip his iiij children either of them one shipp & also unto Margaret Scrip one weaned calfe. Item I give unto Agnes Seargeant the daughter of John Seargeant one shepe & one weaned calfe Item I give unto Joan Seargeant the wyfe of John Seargeant one Roode of Barley Item I give unto Elizabeth Gobby the Wyfe of Richard Gobby one Roode of pease Item I give unto Richard Scrip his wyfe one Roode of Barley in the barley field these three Roodes shalbe payd the next harvest after my departure Item all the rest of my houshold stufe unbequeathed I give & bequeath unto Agnes my wyfe & all the rest of my goods and cattells in the yard moveable and unmoveable I give & beqeath unto Agnes my wyfe & Thomas my soonne whom I make my wholle executors to se my Debts payd and all other legacyes discharged and all other wills I revoke and will that this shall stand and non other nor other wise witnesses to the same Wiliam Boyfield William Drewell John White Reynold Gilbey.
