Testam Johnis GEERYE do Rushden husbandman

In the name of God Amen ye 26th of Aprill: Anno Dom 1610 I John GEERYE of Rushden in ye countie of Northt husbandman being Sycke in bodie, but whole in mynde, doe make & ordayne this my Last will and testament in forme and maner following First I bequeath my Soule into the hande of allmightie god my maker and redeemer, and my bodie to be buried within the Church Yard of Rushden. Item I give unto the churche of Rushden xij d. Item I give unto ye poore of Rushden v s. Itm I give unto Lawrence GEERYE my younger brother x s. All which to be paid within one Yeare after my Departure. Itm I give unto Elizabeth MARGETTE my goddaughter the daughter of George MARGETE vij s. Itm I give unto Mary PUNE ye daughter of Margaret PUNE vis. Itm I give unto everie one of my poore godchildren ij d. a piece. Item I give unto William ELSTON xij d. It I give unto Alice CLARK iiijs. To be paid at Michaelmas next. It I give unto Robert my Sonne half my goods in the field & towne to be equally divided betwixt his mother and him. He paying half with his mother both debts and such Legacies Itm I give unto Jane CHAMBERS her children vj d. a piece Item I give unto William CASWELL his children vj d. a piece Itm I give unto Thomas GEERY his children xviij d. amongst them all Itm I give unto Lawrence GEERY his children vj d. a piece The rest of my goods unbequeathed I doe give unto Agnes my Wife Whom I doe make to be my Executrix of this my Last will and testament: And my wel beloved friends Mr Thomas MARGETTE and Henry HALL to be my supervisors
