Will of Thomas Fisher, Baker, of Rushden
dated 3rd August 1763

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Fisher of Rushden in the County of Northampton
Baker Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following / that is to say Imprimis I Give
and devise to John Worlidge of Wilby in the County of Northampton Yeoman and Joseph Fisher of Wellingborough in the said
County of Northampton Blacksmith and to their heirs All Those several peices and parcells of Arable land ley Meadow
and Pasture Ground with their and every of their Appurtenances lying and being dispersed in the open and Common Fields of Ringstead
and Raunds in the said County of Northampton and there commonly reputed to be One Yard Land and a half / be the same more or less /
now in the tenure or occupation of William Freer – Upon the several Trusts and Confidence herein after mentioned
expressed and Declared of and concerning the same / that is to say / Upon this Trust and Confidence and to the intent and purpose that
they the said John Worlidge and Joseph Fisher and the Survivor of them and the Heirs of such Survivor shall and do permit my loving
Wife Mary to take and receive the Rents issues and Profitts of the said Estate at Ringstead and Raunds aforesaid during the term
of her natural Life in case she continues my Widow but in case she marries again Then and in such Case I direct my said
Trustees to pay thereout imediately on such second Marriage of my said Wife to my two Sons Thomas Fisher and Joseph Fisher
the Sume of thirty Shillings a Year to each of them for and during the Term of her natural Life if my said two Sons shall be
living / if not both living then to pay to the Survivor of my said two Sons the said Sum of three Pounds Yearly during her natural
Life which said Annuity I direct shall be paid half Yearly out of the aforesaid Estate at Ringstead and Raunds And
from and after the Decease of my said Wife then I give and devise all the aforesaid Estates at Ringstead and Raunds unto my
two Sons Joseph Fisher and Thomas Fisher and to their heirs and Assigns for ever to take as Tenants in Common and not as joint
Tenants Item I Give and Devise unto my ___ Son John Fisher and to his heirs and Assigns forever All That Messuage
Tenement or Farm house with the Appurtenances situate standing and being in Duston in the said County of Northampton and
also one Yard Land / parcell of One Yard land ^and a Quarter / of Arable land ley Meadow and Pasture Ground with their Appurtenances
lying and being dispersed in the open and Common Fields of Duston aforesaid now in the tenure or occupation of Widow Buswell
I Give and Devise the said One Yardland unto my said Son John Fisher and to his heirs and Assigns for ever All That peice
of Arable Land lying in Northampton Field in the Parish of Saint Gyles in a Field there called the Middle Field containing by
Estimation Eight Acres / be the same more or less / commonly called Barts peice And also that Close or inclosed Ground with
the Appurtenances lying and being in ^St Edmunds End in the Parish of St Gyles containing by Estimation half an Acre / be the
same moreor less / now in the
occuation of William Walker ____ And also all those several peices and Parcells of Arable Land lying and being
dispersed in the Common and open Fields of Kingsthorpe in the said County of Northampton containing by Estimation Ten
Acres Be the same more or less / And also three Quarters of Meadow in the ___ Meadows of Kingsthorpe aforesaid
Northward in the nineteenth Dole which said Premises are now in the Tenure or occupation of Wm Walker aforesaid I Give
and Devise all and Singular the aforesaid Premises with their and every of their Appurtenances unto ___ my said Son John
Fisher his heirs and Assigns for ever Charged and chargeable nevertheless with the Payment of fifty Pounds to my Daughter
Elizabeth the Wife of Joseph Chettle of Rushden Yeoman and with one hundred Pounds to my Daughter Mary Fisher and
with the payment of One Hundred Pounds to my Daughter Sarah Fisher with interest for the said several sumes from my
Decease at four P[er] Cent until such time as the said several Legacies shall be raised and paid to them respectively or to their legal
Representatives I also give and Devise unto my said Son John Fisher and to his heirs according to the Custom of the Manor
All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate standing and being in Rushden aforesaid and commonly
used as a Bakehouse together with the Orchard thereto belonging now in my own Possession And also all that my other
Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate standing and being in Rushden aforesaid now in the occupation

of Thomas Mawby – Item I Give and Devise unto my Son Thomas Fisher and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever
All that my Peice of Ground lying in the aforesaid Parish of Saint Gyles in the said Field called the Middle Field
containing by Estimation two Acres / be the same more or less / now in the Tenure or occupation of the said William Walker
I also Give and Devise unto my said Son Thomas Fisher and his heirs all that my Close or inclosed Ground with the
Appurtenances situate lying and being in Saint Edmunds End aforesaid in the said Parish of Saint Giles containing by
Estimation about three Roods of Ground / be the same more or less / now in the Tenure or occupation of Francis Humphery
And also I Give and Devise unto my said Son Thomas Fisher and his heirs all that my little Garden with with the
Appurtenances whereon an House formerly stood situate lying and being in Saint Edmunds End aforesaid containing by Estimation
half a Rood of Ground / be the same more or less now in the Occupation of Samuel Poole – I also Give and Devise unto my
said Son Thomas Fisher and his heirs all those my Eight Arable Lands and one Headland containing by Estimation One Acre and
a half / be the same more or less / situate lying and being within the Parish Fields and Libertys of St Sepulcher in the said Town of
Northampton in or near a certain Place there called Wallbank now in the tenure or occupation of the s[ai]d William Walker ___ I also give
and Devise unto my said Son Thomas Fisher ^and to his Heirs All that my Messuage or Tenement situate standing and being on the
North side of a certain Street there called Saint Giles Street in the Parish of Saint Gyles in the said Town of Northampton now in
the Tenure or Occupation of William Roberts Pipemaker ___ Item I Give and Devise unto my said Son Joseph Fisher and to his heirs
and Assigns All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate standing and being near Saint Peters Church
in the Parish of Saint Peters in the said town of Northampton now in the occupation of John Leeche ___ I also Give and
Devise unto my said Son Joseph ^Fisher and to ^his heirs all that Close or Orchard inclosed called the Dovehouse Close or Orchard with theAppurtenances
sitate lying and being in the Parish of Saint Peter aforesaid together with the Dovehouse standing in the said Close now in the Tenure
or Occupation of Samuel Smith ___ I also give and Devise unto my said Son Joseph Fisher and his heirs All that my
little Close of Pasture in .................. with the Appurtenances .............................. ^and ...........................................................................
Place there called Wallbank containing by Estimation One Acre and three Roods / be the same more or less / now in the Possession of
--------- Gambell I Give and Devise the same unto my two Sons Thomas Fisher and Joseph Fisher and to their heirs and
Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants Item all that my Quartern Land / being the Remainder of
one Yard Land and a Quartern / lying and being Dispersed in the Common and Open Fields of Duston aforesaid now in the
tenure or occupation of Richard Hill ___ I Give and Devise the same unto my said Son Joseph Fisher his heirs and Assigns
forever And my mind and Will is that my said Son John Fisher do and shall pay or cause to be paid unto my loving Mother
Abigail Fisher the sume of twenty shillings a Year for and during the Term of her natural Life out of the aforesaid Estate at
Duston And my mind and Will further is that my said loving Wife Mary shall have the Best Bed and Furniture in the
best Room to be at her own Disposal All the rest and residue of my Household Goods and all other my Personal Estate of
what nature or kind soever after Payment of my Debts Legacies and Funerall Expences I Give and bequeath the same
unto my said Son John Fisher and do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint him my said Son John Fisher Sole Executor
of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In Witness Whereof I the said Thomas Fisher have to this
my last Will and Testament contained in Two Sheets of Paper to the first Sheet thereof have set my hand and to the last Sheet thereof
have set my hand and seal this third Day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Sixty three
