Mary Ekins spinster 1730

In the name of God amen I Mary EKINS of Rushden [in] ye County of Northamton spinster doe make this my last will & Testament in manner & form following first my desire is when it please God to take away my life out of this world yt in his mercy he will take to himselfe my soul. I allso desire yt I may be buried in ye Chancell of Rushden. I allso give to ye poor of ye Parish of Rushden five pounds my next desire is, yt if my Dear Grandmother HEWET be living she will please to take something of mine what she shall best like to keep in memory of me I allso give and bequeath to my Br John EKINS one thousand pound of good & lawfull mony of England and to my other two Brothers George EKINS and Thomas EKINS I give three Hundred pounds a peice I allso give my Dear Aunts (if they please to accept of it in memory of their afflicted nece) a twenty shilling Ring a piece. I allso give to my Cousen Eliz GRAVES my two ear’d Silver Cup and I give to my Cosen Mary BOOTHBY my Silver Poringer & Spoon. I give to Mothers Maid Servants if I die wth her twenty shillins a piece and to ye servant yt liveth wth me when I die five pounds. Lastly I make my Dr Mother my Executrix of this my last will in witness when I have set my hand and seale ye sixteenth day of November 1706.

The Condition of the within written Obligation is such that if the within bounden George EKINS & Thomas EKINS the sons and Executors named in the Last Will and Testament of Mary EKINS the Elder late of Rushden in the County of Northampton widow deceased the mother and Executrix named in the Last Will and Testament of Mary EKINS the Younger late of Rushden aforesaid Spinster also deceased and also Administrators of all and singular the goods Chattells and Creditts of the said Mary EKINS the Younger deceased with her said will annexed of the said Mary EKINS the Elder dying before she had taken upon her the Execution of the said Will Do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the goods Chattells and Creditts of the said deceased have or shall come to their hands possession or knowledge and the same so made do Exhibit cause to be Exhibited into the Regtry of the within named Lord Bishop at or before the Last day of September next ensuing and all and singular the said goods Chattells and Creditts do well and truly administer according to Law by paying the debts of the said deceased and the legacies in the said Will contained so far as the said effects will thereunto Extend and further do make or cause to be made and render a just and true account of and upon their said ad’stration and all and singular the residue and remainder of the said goods Chattells and Creditts of which shall be found remaining upon the said Ad’strators account the same being first Examined and approved shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons as the said Judge or |Judges by his or their decree or sentence shall Limitt and appoint then this Obligacon to be void or else to remain in full force
