John Egellton - 1682 Will

Will of John EGELLTON, dated 25th of May 1662

In the name of God amen I John EGELLTON of Rushden in the County of Northampton laborer by the visitation of the allmightie god being Sicke in body but of whole and pfect memorie the lord be praysed doe ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manor and forme following First I doe bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmightie God my Creator and Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer and the holy Ghost my Sanctifier and my body to be buried within the Pish Church or Church yard of Rushden above said

Imprimis I doe give and bequeath unto my Sister Margerett GEEREY twenty Shillings to be paid within one twelve month and a day next after my Decease to hir heirs or asignes And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth BRIME(?) my Sister twenty Shillings within one twelve month and a day next after my decease to hir heirs or asignes And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Rebecca WHALLEY my Sister twenty Shillings to be paid within one twelve month and a day next after my Decease to hir heirs or asignes And allso I doe give and bequeath unto my Brother Francis EGELLTON the like sum of twenty Shillings to be paid within one whole yeare next after my Decease to him his heirs or asignes And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth BRINE Spinner [spinster] the sum of twenty Shillings to be paid within one twleve month and a day next after my Decease and yf it Shall please the allmightie God that Shee Shall Depart this life before the said twenty Shillings Shall be Due to be paid that then the said twenty Shillings is to be paid unto Joh BRINE hir brother to him his heirs or asignes And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Sarai KILLINGWORTH twenty Shillings to be paid within one twelve month next after my Decease And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto my God Daughter Finedon liveing att P?? Fincetts lane End theire five Shillings to be paid within one twelve month and a day next after my Decease And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto my brother Francis EGELLTON my best Coate and my best Jackett and my best Dublett and my best breches and my best hatt ~

Item I doe give and bequeath unto my well beloved Wyfe all my moveable Goods bills bonds Dues Debts chattells Whatsoever belonging unto me the said Joh EGELLTON within the Realme of England whome I doe make my whole Executor of this my Last will and testament and to See me my body Decently buried and my funerall Expences Discharged and my Debts paid and Discharged And allsoe for to pay unto Elizabeth WARRIN the Just Sum of forty pound upon a certaine morgage Due unto hir And allsoe I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth BRINE Spincer one Chest And my will is that no partie heare after shall not make any waste upon my house and ground of any wood but to Cutt and lop the same as usially it have bin And allsoe I doe give and bequeath my white hatt after my Decease to Tho GEERIES son Allsoe I give to Tho GEEREY my brother in law my gray Jackett and briches In wittnes wheare of I the above mentioned Joh EGELLTON have Caused this my last will and testament to be made and have heare unto Sett unto my hand and Seale the five and twenty day of May in the foure teene yeare of the raigne of our Sovraigne lord Charles the Second of England Scotland France and Ierland Kinge Defender of the fayth &c in Anno Domini 1662
