John Draper 1723

In the name of God Amen the twenty eight day of May in the year of our Lord 1723 I John Draper of Rushden in the County of Northampton being weak in body but of sound mind and memory thanks be to God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
Imprimis Whereas I have made a surrender bearing date with this my will whereby I have surrendered by the rod into the hands of the Lord of the Manor of Rushden by the hands of Robert Achurch and John Wollaston two other customary tenants of the said manor all that my messuage or tenement being in the north end of Rushden Robert Achurch on the north side and Sam Dickins on south part thereof to the use and behoof of my beloved wife Hannah Draper for and during her natural life and then to the use and behoof of my daughter Ann Draper and of her heirs and assigns for ever nevertheless and upon condition that if the said daughter Ann Draper her heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto my daughter Hannah Burge the wife of Will Burge of Rushden aforesaid and to her son John Burge the sum of five pounds apiece and also to my daughter Elizabeth Waples two children John and Hannah Waples the sum of five pounds apiece at or before her admittance to the said messuage or tenement. If it so happen that my daughter Hannah Burge or her son should die before me the said time appointed for payment, my will is that their part shall go to the said survivor of them and if both of them should die my will is that one five pound shall be paid to my daughter Elizabeth Waples and if it so happen that one or both of my two grandchildren John and Hannah Waples should die before the time appointed for the payment of the said sums my will is that their parts shall be paid unto my daughter Elizabeth Waples the wife of Humphrey Waples but if default be made of the payment of the said sums or any part thereof before mentioned my will is that the said messuage or tenement shall be to the use and behoof of my daughter Hannah Burge and of her heirs and assigns for ever she paying the said legacy as before appointed and given.
Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Hannah Draper whom I likewise make my sole executrix of this my last will and testament all and singular my moveable household goods and chattels by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed and I do hereby make void all other wills confirming this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
