Testamentum Richard Dobbes de Rushden

In the name of god Amen the fivetenth daie of June in Anno Dm 1603 I Richard Dobbs of Rushton in the Countie of Northampton beinge sike in bodie by the (visitation) of god but yet in good and perfect memorie god be praised therefore doe make & ordaine this my testament wherein is contained my last will in manner and forme following. First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie god my creator and Redemer, Item I give and bequeath to Alice my wife all my freehold and coppie hold howses lands and meadows after my decease soe longe as she keepe her selfe widdowe and she never be married againe then soe longe as ... and after her decease to Marie my daughter and Michael Salloman her husband and to the longer of liver of them, and after their decease to the heires of my daughter Marie for ever after the custome of the manner their. Item I give and bequeath to my brother John Dobbes one half acre of Barley in the Barley field and my best hoase and dublett and twentie shillings of lawfull (English) money to be paid him within one quarter of the yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath to Marie the daughter of Michael Solloman (twentie) poundes of good and lawfull money of England to be paid to her at the (daie of) her marriage. Item all the rest of my goods debts and chattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath to Alice my wife whome I make my whole executrixe of this my last will and testament to see my debts payed and all other funeral expenses discharged And my wellbeloved friends Thomas Smith Thomas Wolston George Achurch and Richard Mallarie I make my overseers wytnesses to the same Thomas Smith Thomas Wolston, Richard Mallorie
