John Darnelly - will 1744

In the name of God Amen I John Darnelly of Rushden in the County of Northampton Yeoman being weak in Body of sound disposing minnd and memory Blessed be God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following---------------------------------

Impris I give to my sister Mary Darnelly the sum of one shiling And Whereas I have made a surrender whereby I have surrendered into the hands of the Lord mann of the mannr of Rushden by the hands of Joseph May and John Hishon two other customary Tennants of the sd Mannr all that my messuage with the Close and Orchard adjoyning to the same lying and being in the North end of Rushden and those my seven and twenty acres and a half of arrable and and Ley ground and four swaths and five draughts of Meadow ground lying and being disporciably divided in the fields and meadow of Rushden, my will is that the said premises so surrendered shall be to the use and behoofe of my beloved Wife Elizabeth Darnelly and of her heirs for ever According to the Custome of the said Mannr Item I give to my said wife my ffreehold Close of pasture ground, in Rushden aforesaid to her and her heirs for ever Item I also give to my sd Wife Elis: Darnelly whom I make sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament All and singular my Goods and Chattels, She paying my just Debts and ffunerall Charge I do hereby make void all other Wills Rattifying this to be my last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal the Twenty sixth day of March 1737 -------------------------------
