In the name of god Amen in the yere of o[ur]
lord god 1558 the xviij daie of August I Wm
Curtis of Rusheden being sicke of body & of
p[er]fect mynd unto god make my testame[n]te and last will
after this man[er] and forme folowinge First I bequethe
my sowle to almightie god my saviour and redem[er] &
my bodie to be buried in the church yard of Rusheden
in the countie of Northampton I bequethe to o[ur] mother
churche of Peterboroughe ij d I bequethe to Henrye
Curtis my sone a pare of shood whelis* & a bullocke
of ij yeres old iiij shepe and xiij s iiij d of good & lawfull
money of Ingland I bequethe to Jane Curtis my
daughter a bullocke of ij yeres iiij shepe and a
pare of flaxon shets I bequethe to Elizabeth Curtis
my daughter a bullocke of ij yeres old iiij shepe and xiij s
iiij d of lawfull money I bequethe to Agnes Curtis

residue of my goodes unbequethed after my dettes
paied and legac[ies] fulfilled I gyve & bequethe
to Fyllis Curtis my wiffe whom I orden &
make my full executrix I make ov[er]sears for
the p[er]formannce of this my last will my brother

*I think this means shod wheels, that is, wheels with an iron rim.
** although two words are blank in this transcript it is clearly the same word twice. It looks like ‘arst’ but I cannot fit it to the context. The probable meaning is for his children to receive their legacies at the age of 20 or earlier if they marry before the age of 20.
*** I would take this to mean that Jackson and Thomas Campion were brothers in law of the testator.
