Will of John COOPER, dated 21st of Feb 1736-37
In the Name of God Amen I John COOPER of Rushden in the County of Northton Yeoman being infirm in body but of sound disposing mind and memory, Blessed be God, do make this my last Will and Testament first I resigne my Soul unto God that gave it my Body I commit to the Earth in hope of a Blessed Resurrection thro’ the merrits of Christ our Saviour as for my Temporal Estate which God hath blessed me with I dispose xxxxx of the same in manner and form following first I do give to my son Thomas COOPER all my Lands and Tenements Whatsoever as well free as fineable to him and his heirs for ever Charged notwithstanding and Subject to pay the Legacys following ^ [‘which’, written above] I will that he pay out of the sd Estate given to him by this my last Will (that is to say) to my Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of Threescore pounds to my Daughter Ann the Sum of Threescore pounds, to be paid Twelve months after my decease Item I give to my Grandson Robert STEVENS the Summ of five pounds to be paid when he shall come to and attain the age of Twenty one years Item all my Goods & Chattels I give unto my Son Thomas COOPER whom I make sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament In Wittness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this Twentyfirst day of Febr. in the year of our Lord 1736-7
