Richard Collson 1638 Will

In the name of God amen the 7th day of January in the year of our Lord 1638 I Richard Collson of Rushden in the County of Northampton Day labourer being sick of body but of good and perfect memory praised be God therefore do ordain and make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I commend my soul into the hands of god my maker hoping assuredly through the only merits of Jesus Christ my saviour to be made partaker of life everlasting And my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of Rushden Item my will is that I give unto Elizabeth my wife my house if she the said Thomas Smith shall redeem it again then the said Thomas Smith shall pay this money to the said Elizabeth my wife item I do make my wife the executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have set to my hand And I do nominate and appoint Eliab May Jude Weedon over seers of this my last will and testament.
