Alice Clare - Will 1607

In the name of god Amen the xxi th daie of September 1607 I Alice Clare of Rushden in the Countie of Northampton wydowe being sick in bodie but whole in mynde doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in forme and manner following First I bequeath my soule into the hands of almightie god my maker and Redeemer and my bodie to be buried within the churchyard of Rushden. Item I give unto my son Robert Clare one loade of greate wood and two loades of faggotts my mault myll and all my (saie) and my mashing fatt Item I give unto Goodith Williams my fetherbedd and my best Cov[er]lett and my best boulster and two of the best Tubbs and all my yarne and the hempe and the hogges so that she shall paie for (nyne) strike of mault Also I give her the best Coffer and one parie of sheets and the greate brass panne and three peeces of pewter Item I give unto my daughter Margaret my trussbed and the painted clothes about it and one Coffer one parie of sheets and three peeces of pewter Item I give unto Marie Smyth one Coffer one parie of sheets and three peeces of pewter Item I give unto Susanne Ruse my Cubbord and my table Item I give unto Marie Smyth my table in the chamber and the (form)e, all the rest of my goodes unbequeathed I give unto Goodith Williams whom I doe make my whole Executrix of this my last will and testament Wytness Thomas Dewburie
