Richard Brittaine 1664

In the name of God Amen the twenty eight day of June 1664 according to the computation of the Church of England I Richard Brittaine of Rushden in the County of Northampton weaver being of perfect memory and remembrance praise be God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. Viz
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer to receive free pardon and forgive all my sins and as for my body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my executrix hereafter mentioned.
Item I give unto my brother Walter Brittaine twenty shillings to be paid one year after my decease and I give unto John son of my brother Walter four pounds and I give unto Mary daughter of my brother Walter also the sum of four pounds to be paid unto each of them one year after my decease.
Item I give unto Dorothy Baxter the daughter of Elizabeth Baxter deceased one shilling to be paid after my decease.
Item I give unto the two daughters of my sister Ann [Farr] deceased that is to say Elizabeth and Basebe twenty shillings a piece to be paid after one year after my decease.
Item I give unto Dorothy Billing daughter of John Billing all my goods, bedsteads tables stools chairs pewter brass linen woollen and all others of my movable goods whatsoever within doors excepting the looms gear and furniture within the shop which I give and bequeath unto William Billing son of John Billing.
Item I give unto Dorothy Billing and unto Ann Billing daughters of the aforesaid John Billing all my grain growing now in the fields of Rushden and my two cows to be equally divided between them at the discretion of my executrix within one month after my decease.
Item I give unto 10 widows living in the parish of Rushden at the discretion of Mr Richard Rewse and the churchwardens for the time being ten shillings within one year after my decease.
Item I give all others of my goods bonds and bills whatsoever unto Dorothy Billing my sister the wife of John Billing upon condition that she pay all my debts and legacies and funeral charges and ordain her my sister Dorothy Billing sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other wills whatsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
