Sarah Beeby 1700

March the 15th 1700

In the Name of God Amen I Sarah Beeby of Rushden widow in the county of Northampton being sick and weak of body but of perfect sense and Remembrance God be praised do make and ordain this my Last will and testament in manner and form following First I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping Through the meritorious death and passion of the Lord Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to Receive free pardon and Remission of all my sins and my body to be buried in Christian burial according to the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for that portion of worldly goods that God hath endowed me with I give as followeth Item after my debts and funeral charges is paid and discharged Item first I give and bequeath unto John Bayley and Elizabeth Askew wife of Leonard Askew son & daughter of Humphrey Bayley forty shillings a piece to be paid to them within one year after my Decease and if the said John Bayley shall die before he receiveth the said Legacy then it shall be paid to Sarah Bayley his daughter and if the said Elizabeth shall dye before she hath received this Legacy then it shall be equally divided among her children Item I do give and bequeath to Elizabeth Hensman wife of William Hensman and Anne Blundell her sister the sum of forty shillings a piece and if the said Elizabeth Hensman shall die before she hath received the Legacy then it shall be paid to her children to be equally divided among them and if the said Anne Blundell shall die before she hath received this Legacy then it shall be to the use of my Executor Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Buzwell the sum of forty shillings Item I give and bequeath to Mary Porch the wife of William Porch the sum of forty shillings and if the said Mary Porch shall die before she hath received this Legacy then it shall be to the use of my Executor Item I give and bequeath to William Cambelldine the sum of forty shillings and if the said William Cambelldine shall die before he hath received this Legacy then it shall be paid to his children by my Executor to be equally divided among them Item I do give and bequeath to John Cambelldine sone of William Cambelldine the sum of twenty shillings and if the said John Cambelldine shall die before he hath received this Legacy then it shall be to the use of my Executor Item I give and bequeath to William Beeby son of Thomas Beeby of Rockingham the sum of forty shillings and if the said William Beeby shall die before he hath received this Legacy then it shall be to the use of my Executor Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Buzwell widow late wife of Henry Buzwell the sum of forty shillings Item I give and bequeath unto Christopher and Thomas and John and Sarah and Elizabeth and Susannah and Martha Buzwell sons and daughters of Henry Buzwell the sum of fifteen pounds of Good and Lawful money of England to be equally divided among them Item I give and bequeath to Gabriel and Philip Buzwell sons of Thomas Buzwell the sum of four pounds apiece Item I give and bequeath unto Henry and Mary Harbert son and daughter of Henry Harbert the sum of four pounds apiece Item my will is that all those Legacies bequeathed above named be well and truly paid with Good and Lawful Money of England within one year after my decease by my Executor hereafter named Item I give and bequeath to my Niece Martha Banks all my Moveable Goods within doors and without being in the house and yard where I now dwell Excepting my sale cloth and other sale goods that I trade with which is to Remain and be to the use of my Executor Item I give and bequeath unto Henry Harbert my nephew all the rest of my movable Goods and Chattels whatsoever herein unbequeathed whom I make sole Executor of this my Last will and Testament and he to perform this my will to pay all the said Legacies by me hereinbequeathed and to pay my debts and discharge my funeral expenses and I do hereby null and Make void all other former wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
