William Bayly 1705

In the name of God Amen I William Bayly of Rushden in the County of Northampton mason being sick in body but of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory praised be God for the same do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Phillipp Bayly the sum of ten shillings to be paid him by my Executor hereinafter named within twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my wife Ann Bayly all my household goods also to dispose of the same as she shall think fit and whereas I have made and whereby I have made a surrender bearing date within my will whereby I surrender into the hands of Katherine the Queen Dowager Lady of the Manor of Rushden by the hand of John Deyton and William Bawdin two customary servants of the said manor, All that my half part of a messuage or tenement with the appurtenances in Rushden aforesaid, situated and being in a certain street there called Duck Street and now in the occupation of me the said William Bayly which surrender is made to the use of my last Will and Testament in writing to be subscribed by three or more credible witnesses and do hereby declare that the said messuage occupant for surrender shall be to the use and behalf of me the said William Bayly for and during my natural life and from and after my decease to the use and behalf of my wife Ann Bayly during her natural life in so far she remain a widow and from and after her decease or marriage then to the use and behalf of my son Robert Bayly and his heirs and assigned for ever according to the custom of the said manor with this provisor or condition that my said son Robert Bayly shall order within two years after my decease pay unto my said wife the sum of seventeen pounds to be by her put out or used as she shall have occasion and my further will is that my said wife shall have the disposing of the same to give it to such of my said children as she shall think in case she doth not expend the same in her lifetime. Item all the use of my money goods and chattels whatsoever I give unto my said wife and son Robert Bayly who I make to be Executor and Executrix of this my will desiring my said son Robert Bayly to be at the charge of my burial and to pay all my just debts in witness whereof I have to this my will set my hand and seal this fifth day of May Anno Domini 1705.
