In the name of god Amen the nynthe day of September in Anno Dom 1619 I John Bates of Rushden in the Conty of North wever being sicke in body by the visitacon of god but yet in good and perfect remembrance thankes be to god therefore Do make and ordayne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme hearinafter following First I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty god my heavenly father and to Jesus Christ his only son my Redeemer and to the holy ghost my sanctifier by whome and in whom I trust to be saved and to have forgiveness of all my sinnes Item I give and bequeath to my son Edward Bates xijd of currant english money Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Dorathy the wife of Jhon Brittin xijd Item I give unto my son in Law Jhon Brittin xijd of Lawful english money al theis shalbe payed within one yeare after my decease Item I give to Jane Bates my daughter one truss bedsted a Round Table ij dishes of pewter to be payed her at her day of Marriage Item all the Rest of my goodes and cattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath to my sonne Thomas Bates whom I make myne executor of this my last will to see my debts payed and all other funerall expences discharged and also I make my welbeloved friends Francis Bates and Oliver Latymer my supervisors.
