John Barrey - will 1683

In the Name of God Amen May the one & Twentieth One Thousand six hundred eighty Three I John Barrey of Rushden in the County of North’ton husbandman being sicke & weake of body but of sound & perfect mind and memory praise be therefore to Allmighty God doe make & ordaine this my present Last will & Testament in manner and form Following (That is to say) first & principally I commend my soul into the hands of Allmighty God hopeing through the merritt death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full & free pardon & forgivenesse of all my sins and to inherite everlasting life And my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried according to the discression of my Executrix hereafter named And as Touching the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon me I give & dispose thereof as Followeth

(That is to say) my funeral charges being first discharged by my Executrix hereafter named I doe hereby give & bequeath unto my deare & Loveing wife Hannah Barrey all my moveable goods & Chatles & Cattell whatsoever whom I make sole Executrix of this my Last will & Testament & I doe hereby revoke null and make void all other wills & Testaments by mee at any time heretofore made In witnesse whereof I the said Joh Barrey have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written
