In the name of god amen the xxij daye of the monethe of Maie in the yere of owr lord god 1555 I Richarde Maye of Rushden in the cowntie of Northa[m]pton husbandman beinge off holle mynde and in p[er]fett Remembrannce laude & prayse be unto almyghte god make and ordeyne ths my present testame[n]t concerning herin my last will in man[er] and forme followyne. First I commend my soule unto almyghtie god my maker & redeemer & my bodie to be buried in the p[ar]yshe churche of Rushden aforesade Item I bequethe to the hye aulter of Rushden aforsade for my tythes forgotten xij d Item I bequethe to the mending of the cause benethe the churche greyne xx s Item I bequethe to the  pore people of Woodforde where most need ys vj s viij d Item I bequethe to the pore people of Cranforde where most need is vj viij d item I bequethe to ev[er]y one of my sonns children x s a pece and also I will & bequethe to ev[er]y one of my daughers children to ev[er]y one of them x s a pece And also I will and bequethe the rest of all my goods unbequethed to Willm Maye my sonne whom I make my soule executor of thys my last will & testame[n]t Item I bequethe to Richard Dobbys my sonne in law iij s iiij d whom I make & ordayne my sup[er]visor & ov[er]seer of this my last will & testament In wytnesse wherof I ye aforsayde Rich Meye have put my hand (even) the daye & yere above
