Amye Manning - Will 1578

Testamentum Amie Maninge de Rushden dess     An[n]o d[om]in[i] 1578

In the name of god Amen, the xv daye of march An[n]o d[om]in[i] 1578. I Amye Maninge of Rushden in the countie of Northton wydowe beinge sick in [body] by the visitation of god but in perfecte memorie god be praised therefore: do make and ordaine this my Testamente whearein is contayned my Last will in maner and forme followinge: First I bequeath my soule into the hands of almightie god my maker and redemer by whome and in whom I trust to be saved & to have forgevenes of all my sinnes etc. It[e]m I geve and bequeath to my two daughters Elizabeth Ive and Katheren Clarke all my Raymente as well wollaine as lynnyne to be parted equally betwene them. It[e]m I geve to the same Katheren Clarke one milche cowe an heffer & tenn shepe and a longe coffer to be paid her w[i]thin one yeare after my deceasse: It[e]m I geve to Will[ia]m Clarke the sonne of Rich[ard] Clarke one shepe and to Amye Clarke one shepe & a flaxen sheete to be paid them in like maner. It[e]m I geve to Elizabeth Ive the wyffe of Rich[ard] Ive one halfe quarter of malt & to ether of his children one shepe to be paide to them in like maner within one yeare after my deceasse. It[e]m I geve to John Barton the sonne of Thomas Barton one heffer of the age of thre yeares & two ewes and lambes and every yeare one roode of tilthe lande ready sowen for the space of foure yeares next after my deceasse; It[e]m I geve to other of the children of Rich[ard] Smith one shepe to be paid to them w[i]thin one yeare after my deceasse: It[e]m I geve to Francis Smith the daughter of Franncis Smithe tenn shepe to be geven her at the daye of her mariage.  It[e]m I geve to my sonne Thomas Smith one Cubbord a table a forme a benche borde a saltinge trough sixe silver spones the planks mangers & racks in both the stables with a bedd in the parlore and all that belongeth theareto,  also my will is that my sonne Will[ia]m Maninge shall cause one bedsted to be made for him selfe out of the whole goods like to that that Thomas hath; It[e]m my will is that my two sonnes Thomas Smith & Will[ia]m Maninge shall have and occupie my farme together with all the occupying which  I now possess with all comodities & profets theareto belonginge for the space of so manye yeares as I have Mr Pembertons lande in occupyinge: and also my will is that after those yeares be expired my sonne Thomas Smith shall have the occupyinge of the farme whole  to himselfe with all the profets theareto belonginge:  Untill the leasse be expired and also my will is that yf my sonne Will[ia]m Maninge can purchase or take any [savinge] that then the said Will[ia]m shall make of my whole goods undevided [&  with] vjs viijd to help him thereto, furthermore my will is that yf my sonne Will[ia]m shall chance to marry with a wydowe or maid that hath a farme of her owne or by lease that then she  shall not make this mony of my goods.  It[e]m I will that after the end and […] of the year aforsaid my two sonnes Thomas Smith and Will[ia]m Maninge whom I make my whole executors causinge my dets to be paide shall equally devide all my unbequeathed goods betwixte them both in feild and towne: and my beloved sonne Richard Smithe I make my supervisor of this my last will and I geve him for his paines [therin]  to be taken thirtie shillings the wh[i]ch he doth owe unto mee witnesses to the same Edmonde Tap Will[ia]m Brasbridge Richard Hunte Oliver Lattymer and [John?] Burton
