In the Name of God Amen I Samuel KENT of the parish of Rushden in the County of Northampton Taylor being weak in Body but of sound and disposing mind & memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling to mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die. Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament as follows first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I commit to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named nothing doubting but that at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God – And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise bequeath and dispose of the same as followeth. Imprimis I give demise and bequeath to Martha  my welbeloved wife all and singular my Household goods and furniture and also all of my stock in trade and all my monies be it in Cash bonds bills or book debts together with all my goods and Chattells with all my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever: And I do likewise Constitute and Appoint Martha my said wife to be my only and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament whom I also Charge with the payment of all my just Debts and funeral Expenses And I do hereby ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 11^th Day of December 1781.
