Orphans

Rushden Echo, 2nd August 1918, transcribed by Kay Collins

Two Sisters of Mercy from the Nazareth Home at Northampton—an orphanage for girls—visited Rushden last week, calling on the manufacturers, business people, and others, soliciting subscriptions for the orphanage, and meeting with a generous response. The Mother Superior of the Home is very grateful for the response to the application, and sends her heartfelt thanks, through the “Rushden Echo,” to the whole of the inhabitants of Rushden. She authorises us to state that she will at any time be pleased to show anyone round the Home. We understand that a number of Rushden orphan girls are being maintained there.
