Apprenticeship Indenture 1825


To the Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Wellingborough in the County of Northampton

We whose Hands are hereunto set, Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Rushden in the County of Northampton do hereby give you, the Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Wellingborough aforesaid, Notice that, pursuant to an Order, bearing date the fourth Day of May instant under the Hands and Seals of Samuel Woodfield Paul and George Warcup Malim, Clerks, Justices assigned to keep the Peace in and for the said County of Northampton whereby we are ordered and directed to bind one Cheney Linnitt a poor male Child, of the Age of thirteen Years and upwards belonging to and having Settlement in the said Parish of Rushden and whose parents William Linnitt and Sarah his wife are not able to support him to be an Apprentice to one Joseph Dunmore of the said Parish of Wellingborough in the said County of Northampton, Tailor. We do intend to bind such Child apprentice to the said Joseph Dunmore and as an Apprentice with him the said Joseph Dunmore to dwell and serve, until the said Cheney Linnitt shall come to the Age of twenty one Years and we do intend to apply on the eleventh Day of May instant to two of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Northampton to allow the Indenture of Apprenticeship to bind the said Cheney Linnitt as aforesaid.

Dated the fourth Day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty five.
