F Tassell does not seem to improve either in lessons or in conducting her class. Rev C J Gordon visited the school and brought this year’s report. The following is a copy:-
“There have been several changes in the staff during the year but the children are well behaved and the school promises to do well under the present Mistress. Handwriting is greatly improving in the first class but Reading and Number will need attention throughout the school. The children sing nicely and drill weel and seem much interested in their Kindergarten work. The desks for the second class are too high. The last report should be entered in the Log-book. Better ventilation is needed in each room. The cloakroom is very old and affords insufficient accommodation. Backs should be placed to the gallery seats in the Babies’ room; forms with backs on also needed.”

Copy of Report for May 1895
“The illness of the children during the early part of the year and of the teacher at the end has somewhat interfered with the working of the school. The children are well behaved, though a little restless, and have passed a creditable examination. Handwriting might be more even and more Word-building is necessary in reading. The teaching of the Babies leaves much to be desired. The Babies room will accommodate 50, and there are often 70 children in this room which is very close and as was pointed out last year prpoer apex ventilation is needed.”
