Infant School

“The infants are in good order and their attainments are satisfactory.  The varied occupations should be correlated with other subjects of instruction.  Habits of punctuality should be encouraged.  The remark in last year’s report about the unsuitable desks and the single exit should receive early attention.”

The teacher E Ginns does not appear to be engaged under a written agreement.  I am to refer you to Article 71* of the Provisional Code of 1903.

Copy of the Government Report

Mixed School:   The school is well conducted, the children are well behaved and interested in their work, and are making good progress.  The Head master exercises thorough supervision over the work of the school, and his reports are discriminating and indicate the weak points in the work.  The work of the girls is better than that of the boys among whom there are many half time scholars.  There is some weakness in the Spelling in the lower part of the school.  3rd standard is not very intelligent.  The instruction in Ambulance is much appreciated by the upper standards.  None of the stoves satisfy the regulations (Rule 13 Building Rules) of inlets for fresh air by means of hoppered windows are required in the large room.  Some of the desks are old and should be replaced by new ones.  The proximity of the offices to the school prevents the windows near them being opened.  The playgrounds are small for such a large school.

L M Wilde is too old for recognition under Art 33.
