Report
Schools are chiefly supported by Annual Subscription, and by the Voluntary Contributions of the Inhabitants of this Parish and Neighbourhood.

The number of Children in attendance, and their progress generally through Contributory Donations has been satisfactory and fully realize the expectations of the Promoters of the Schools and it having been found necessary to obtain increased accommodation, therefore we have within the last few weeks secured on a lease the building opposite to the Church lately used by the Methodists as a place of worship, together with the Cottage adjoining for the purpose of the Girls’ and Infants’ Schools.

The estimate for the necessary repairs to these building after deducting the Proceeds of the Sale of the Round House, …… and, as it is deemed expedient to obtain the Services of a well-trained and efficient Master at a higher rate of Salary, the expenses of the current year may be expected fully not to exceed those of the last. The Committee are thankful for the liberal Contributory Donation, the means of which, they have been enabled to make so large, though necessary sum without incurring any debt; and while acknowledging the support already received would in conclusion remind their neighbours that the advantages of a sound Education is a higher value than any other earthly blessing, and therefore that it is a privilege of duty, which devolves upon all to uphold to the utmost of their power Institution Description.
