Over 200 athletes from all parts of Northants journeyed to Peterborough on Saturday for the annual sports of the Northants Schools' Athletic Association. The 8 District Associations represented were Brackley, Desborough, Kettering, Mid Northants, Peterborough, Rushden, South Northants and Wellingborough.
The outstanding feature was the jump of G Watford (Rushden) who cleared 4ft 8ins—nearly his own height—in the high jump.
Peterborough won the boys' championship with 14 points, South Northants and Rushden being second and third respectively with 13 points and 12 points.
The placings in the girls' championship were: Rushden (14½) 1, Kettering (12 2/3) 1, South Northants (12) 3.
