Report of School
The School Board may be congratulated on the completion of these convenient and commodious school buildings. AS might be expected the order and instruction have greatly improved and the school promises to reach a very high state of efficiency in the future. For the improvement already effected the highest Variable Grant has been recommended. In arranging the staff care must be taken to satisfy Article 73 (small print) of the Code. The reports on the periodical examinations are often too laudatory; weak points should be carefully noted for the guidance of the members of the staff.
If a grant under Article 101* of the Code is claimed the directions given in the enclosed Form should be attended to.

Report of School
“The order is good and the teaching is on fairly intelligent lines, but many of the older children ought to be in the upper school. The children should not write with blunt pencils, and in the fourth class there is too much simultaneous answering, which should be more individual and in complete sentences. The attention of the babies is not well secured and the teaching lacks brightness. The Whale is not a very good object lesson for the babies’ class. Drill is good and a beginning has been made in Brush Drawing. The door springs are too strong. The playground is very rough and might be asphalted with advantage.”

Report of School
“The syllabus of work for each period should be more explicitly set out, the reports are very meagre and might be fuller of suggestions and criticism for the class teachers, and more supervision might be exercised over the work by the head teacher. More intelligent methods of teaching Reading and Numbers might be adopted. The fourth and sixth classes are brightly taught. The cloak room for the babies should be fitted with pegs. The playground might be covered with asphalt.
