Fire a Hunt's

A fire, which happily was quickly extinguished, happened in an outhouse belonging to Mr. S. L. Hunt, printer, on Monday. The out-house was a wooden building, being a lean-to against Messrs. B. Denton’s factory, and was packed with wastepaper. The outbreak was noticed at 2p.m. by Messrs. Denton’s workpeople, who quickly set to work with buckets to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile the fire Brigade were called and quickly arrived with the hose-cart. There were present Capt. Knight (in charge), Second Officer G. R. Turner, Firemen Whiting, Green, Payne, Britchford, and Wooding. Owing to the situation of the fire, it was only the promptitude of the workpeople which prevented a serious conflagration.
