Research and article by Richard Hall, 2017

One chemist is something of a mystery to me. From 1920 to 1940 William Wright had a Chemist & Druggist at 100 High Street. I do remember his shop which I believe had Kodak pelmets along the top of the windows.

It was subsequently bought by the Co-op and run as a pharmacy before they moved the business to larger premises further south along the High Street.

I can find no information at all about William nor his business except an advertisement on 27th February 1933.
