The business was originally called Laughton Plumbing and Heating Supplies Ltd and was established in about 1980 by Mr. R. Randall, Mr. Z. Wereszczynski, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Laughton at 4, Alfred Street, Rushden, Northants, on the ground floor. The property was and remains leasehold, owned by Robert Flavell Hart along with a number of other properties in the vicinity.

The business was acquired by Mr. Ronald Kentfield, a heating design engineer, on 20^th April 1989. At the time of purchase, Ron was managing director of Modern Heating Merchants of Albert Road, Rushden, Northants.

The Alfred Street business expanded to take over the flat upstairs and also the property adjoining it at 6 Alfred Street and renamed Laughton Showrooms Ltd. For a few years number 6 was used as bathroom showrooms until it became uneconomical to rent the building.

At the time of writing in 2008, the business, now trading as Waterwise Bathrooms and Plumbing Supplies, still has the same owner.

It is a retail and trade supplier of plumbing and heating materials and is run by a dedicated staff of three - Ron Kentfield, Maurice Ford and Donna Aitken.They offer advice and assistance at a technical level.

Customers are always made to feel welcome whether they just require a tap washer or a complete bathroom suite. Several trade customers have been loyal to the Company for years. In fact retired plumbers still call in for a chat and a cup of tea.
