Tudor Ties

The address of Tudor Ties was 23 Fitzwilliam Street when the Rushden & Higham Ferrers Rugby Club had a tie specially made to commemorate their tour of the Isle of Man in 1974.
The company had moved to 42 Wellingborough Road when
Totectors celebrated their centenary in 1985.

Firm set to move in at new factory

A RUSHDEN firm is hoping to tie up plans for a new factory in the next few months.

And the move could mean more jobs at the family firm of Tudor Ties.

The company produces specially designed ties for clubs, businesses, schools and the county police force, as well as to Switzerland and even Qatar in the Middle East.

"The plans still have to be formally passed and we have to put the work out to tender. We hope to get things underway in May," said managing director Rex Lissimore.

"Although we are expanding it will not mean there will immediately be new jobs available, but there could be in the future," he added.

At present the 15-strong company operates from rented premises on Wellingborough Road, but after the thumbs up from the East Northants Planning Committee it should not be long before the firm is on the move to its purpose-built plant in Norris Way, Rushden.
